The Treatment
SkinPen Microneedling causes controlled micro-injuries that stimulate your body’s natural wound healing process while minimizing tissue injury. This can result in effective scar tissue remodeling while keeping the skin’s overall structure intact. During the procedure, various micro-perforations are administered along the targeted area to stimulate the body’s natural wound healing phases, allowing the skin to heal, and rejuvenate. This causes new collagen, elastin, and fibrin, to grow within the deepest layer of the skin.

Which areas are treated?
Several body areas can be treated with this procedure, including the face, chest, neck, abdomen, and thighs.
When will I see the results?
The improvement can be noticeable at six to eight weeks after the procedure.
How long do results last?
It varies for each patient. Typically, results can become visible within eight to twelve weeks.
What can I do to prepare for my treatment?
Avoid exposing the area of treatment to the sun for two to three weeks before your treatment. Don’t wax for at least one week. If you have cold sores, ensure to treat them with an antiviral medication. We may recommend a tyrosinase inhibitor for maximum regulation of melanin synthesis.
What can I do to recover?
You may use a cold compress on the treated area to relieve side effects. Protect your skin from the sun and wear SPF 30 moisturizer to prevent pigmentation. Avoid harsh exfoliants and AHA’s or retinol for at least seven days after treatment. No makeup, swimming, tanning beds, or strenuous exercise for a day after the procedure.
Are there side effects?
Yes. You may get dryness, tightness, redness, itchiness and discomfort for up to 10 days.
